Kristen Faulkner: From Rowing to Racing

From Harvard to the Olympics

Kristen Faulkner, born December 18, 1992, is an American professional racing cyclist who currently rides for the UCI Women's Continental Team EF-Oatly-Cannondale. Faulkner's journey to cycling is an unconventional one, having started her athletic career in rowing.

At just 16 years old, Faulkner was named to the United States Track Cycling Team while still competing as a lightweight rower for Harvard-Radcliffe. Despite her early success in cycling, it wasn't until 2017 that Faulkner seriously pursued the sport, seeking an outdoor hobby.

Faulkner's determination and talent quickly propelled her through the ranks, and in 2023, she earned a spot on the US Olympic track cycling team for the upcoming Paris Games. A native of Homer, Alaska, Faulkner's remarkable transformation from rower to Olympic cyclist is a testament to her athleticism and unwavering spirit.
